Eastern Bounces Back
After a tough loss to cross-town rival Lansing Sexton last week, Lansing Eastern bounced back with a big win over Holt. The Quakers were lead by Fredrick Edmond who had 22 points despite missing a lot of the 3rd quarter with foul trouble. Edmond has been doing it all year, and has become one of the most productive players in the area.

Shaye Brown Airs It Out In 2011
Shaye Brown from Linden HS made a huge impact in 2011 passing for over 2,700 and 27 touchdown passes. The 6-foot-3 Quarterback is another name to keep an eye on in the 2013 recruiting class.

Austin Jones Has Successful Season
Austin Jones from Bay City Central had an excellent 2011 football season earning 1st Team All-Saginaw Valley honors and was on the Bay City Times Dream Team. Jones recently made the Michigan Elite 7on7 team. He also carries a 4.1 overall GPA. Check out his interview here on Michigan Preps.

Jamal Lyles Press Conference
Jamal Lyles of Southfield Lathrup signed his letter of intent with Michigan State University. Lyles was our #3 overall rated player in our Michigan Preps Top 200. Lyles will go to MSU as a Linebacker but could be looked at as a potential defensive end or tight end as well. Jamal has the versatility to do a lot. Michigan State got a great one with this recruit. Clay Will Be A Saluki
Adam Clay from Livonia Franklin signed with Southern Illinois today. He had offers from Army, Robert Morris and Duquesne. Clay will join Jake Notario and TJ Beelen at Southern Illinois. Syracuse Gets A Great One In Knapp
Kyle Knapp from Portage Central had over a dozen offers and chose to play for Syracuse University. Knapp has dominated over the last 3 seasons and a player that will do very well in New York. Check out Kyle's Signing Day Interview here on Michigan Preps.

Cooper Rush Signing Day Interview
Cooper Rush from Lansing Catholic Central was the Gatorade Player of the Year here in Michigan. The 6-foot-3 QB will take his talents to Mount Pleasant to play for Central Michigan University. Henry Is Excited To Be A Bronco
Michael Henry from Flint Northwestern was one of the top wide receivers in Michigan for the Class of 2012. Henry will head to Kalamazoo to play for Western Michigan University. Fuhrman Signs With Rice
Garrett Fuhrman from Lansing Eastern High School will be heading to the Lone Star state to go to Rice University. Garrett performed extremely well at their 1 day camp and was extended an offer. Hairston Heads To The GLIAC
Marlon Hairston from Detroit Country Day has been a key player for the Yellow Jackets the last 3 years. Hairston chose Northwood University today. Falcons Get Pettus
Bowling Green stole a great Junior College prospect and former Michigan High School standout Josh Pettus. Pettus was an All-Conference player for the College of Dupage in 2011. Greg Webber Has The Experience
Greg Webber from Troy HS has been starting varsity since his freshman season. The 6-foot-3 270 lbs Offensive Guard is the Colts team captain and a 2-time All-League (OAA) performer. Sheena Lifts Northern
At the end of Walled Lake Northern's 67-62 overtime victory against Walled Lake Western Friday night, Northern's head coach Ron Thompson and senior guard Jared Sheena found one word to describe the win: unbelievable.

Mazur Does It On & Off The Field
Blake Mazur from Comstock Park had another great football season in 2011. The 6-foot-2 227 lbs D-End made plays all season long and helped his team to win District and regional Championships. Daniel Loves Competition
Waterford Mott's DaVonte Daniel learned an important lesson when he was younger, that is now paying huge dividends for the Corsairs. Growing up with an older sibling taught Daniel that losing was unacceptable, and this competitive edge has stuck with him throughout his life.

Canty Is Lightning Quick
One of the top prospects and athletes in the Class of 2013 is Jaleel Canty of Lansing Everett. Canty had an outstanding junior season earning Dream Team honors in Lansing. Canty could be the fastest player in the state. He had the top 40 time at the Michigan Preps Football Combine in 2011. Division 1 schools will definitely be all over him this winter and spring. Edmond Drops 17 on Okemos
The Lansing Eastern Quakers (10-1, 6-0) defeated the Okemos Chieftains (6-4, 3-3) 71-61 Tuesday night to stay tied for first in the Capital Area Activities Blue division with Lansing Sexton. Fredrick Edmond and Brian Morton Jr. had 17 points each to lead the Quakers.

Stinson's Stock Rising
Detroit Douglass 2013 ATH Demetrius Stinson has started to make some noise on the recruiting scene after a standout junior season and strong performance at the U.S. Army Junior Combine in San Antonio earlier this month. Heading into a weekend junior day visit to Toledo, Stinson talked about which schools are showing the most interest at this stage of the process.

Heartfelt Effort
Every time West Bloomfield's Jake Daniels steps onto the court he always has two things with him - a penny in his right sock and his friend in his heart. Daniels lost a friend before the season, and his memory is one of the strongest motivators a young athlete could have.

Juwan Lewis Commits
Juwan Lewis from Muskegon gave his verbal commitment this morning. lewis was one of the top overall RB prospects here in Michigan for the Class of 2013. Juwan will definitely add momentum to the success of the program. Check out where Juwan will play in college here on Michigan Preps.
