 |
Practice starts August 4th from 5:30 - 8:00 pm. Please arrive 15 minutes early.
Please come prepared with cleats, the appropriate equipment, and water (or gatorade).

| HUDDLE UP! |
|
Each Wednesday at 8pm we bring all of the teams/squads together at center field to go over any important
information for the upcoming week and games.
The coaches will let you know at that time when your child needs to be to the weekend game.
These huddles are extremely important and we ask that you make every effort to be at these huddles even if your child isn't practicing that day.
Most of the huddles only last about 10-15 minutes.
Also, each week we will be passing out a newsletter with all of the important information that you need to know.
Please make sure to read these newsletters. They are different each week and the information is important.

| NEW VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR |
 |
We have a new Volunteer Coordinator this year so please help her out and sign up early. She will be the one recruiting parent volunteers to help out with all of the many aspects that go into running a football game. For example someone to announce the games, ticket sellers for the 50/50 drawing, concession stand help, move the chains during the games, etc.
Please welcome: Marliss Stark

| LJAL SUMMER BLAST |
|
We will be doing an LJAL Summer Blast Fundraiser on Saturday, August 21 from noon to 3pm.
This is going to be a fun, family friendly carnival that promises to be different from our
normal fundraisers. More info will be coming soon but it will be a wallet friendly event with 2
bounce houses, a 22 foot slide, a Wrestling show and an opportunity to dunk the Coaches & Directors
in a dunk tank! Mark your calendars for a ton of fun!

| BLUE JAY PRIDE |
|
Many things are still changing in the Blue Jay unit. We have a commitment to Franklin
Football Program and their coaches to develop a strong Football Program for our area.
We hope we have a successful season for our Blue Jays and our Brother Patriots.
If you have any questions or suggestions feel free to contact one of the Directors.
|

| GENERAL INFORMATION & REMINDERS |
|
Parents, make sure you are at the field if you see that the weather is getting bad. We have nowhere for the kids to go if there are bad storms.
Also, be sure you're there at least 15 minutes before practice ends to pick your children up.
Coaches, if you want anything added to the weekley newsletter please give the information to Gena on Monday so the newsletter can be printed and given out on Wednesdays.
Parent Volunteers
We will ask that all parents volunteer for at least 2 games. There is a lot of different positions open. There will be a sign up sheet at practices and uniform handout.
Kitchen Donations
We will need donations for kitchen items for the Blue Jays kitchen. A list will be given to your child the first week of practice.
Complaints
ALL complaints must be put in writing and given to Bret Thurshman, he is the unit director. If your complaint is not in writing, it will not be addressed. Bret is also ALWAYS at the field after practice if you need to speak with him.

| A FRIEND OF THE BLUE JAYS! |
|
Make sure to check out My Deli located
on Newburgh just north of 7 Mile Rd (map).
Bring your appetite though, I've heard soup and a sanwhich is enough to feed two.
My Deli has made many donations to the Blue Jays Football and Cheer squads. We'd like to thank them for their generosity!
